• 0 km: Rebild Bakker

  The start

  Many kilometers of beautiful gravel riding on Haervejen awaits.

  In the middle of this spectacular and beautifully hilly moor landscape, you're being sent off on the gravel roads of Haervejen.

  Arrive early to enjoy the views over the landscape from Rebildporten.

• 0-8 km: Rold Skov

  Haervejen

  The first part of the route follows gravel roads through the forest of Rold.

  Enjoy the hilly terrain taking you to the city of Arden.

• 30 km: Bramslev Bakker

  Enjoy the view

  Watch your heart rate, as it goes up and down through the hilly terrain of Bramslev Bakker and remember to enjoy the view over Mariager Fjord.

  The hilly terrain along the fjord is a result of the last ice age, which created great erosions along the river.

• 39 km: Viking Center Fyrkat

  The breath of history

  Gravel roads take you across the spring of Onsild and straight into the history.

  Here, you pass just by the Viking Center Fyrkat, and your thoughts will be sent back in time.

  Fyrkat is dated to year 980 and was probably built by Harald Blaatand.

• 44 km: Lokes Moor

  Challenging terrain

  A long avenue with high trees take you through Lokes Moor which includes burial mounds and ancient memories.

  The entrance to Lokes Moor reminds us of the forest of Arenberg - but without the cobbles.

  The road surface can challenge those with skinny tires.

• 37 km: Outside velodrome

  Feed station 1

  Now it's time to fill up those energy stores.

  Take a break at the feed station by the cycling mekka of 'Alt på hjul' translating to everything on wheels.

  This place is home to all two wheeled activities of the city of Hobro and the surrounding area as well as an outside velodrome and a pumptrack.

  The feed stations are famous for their great selection of food and drinks as well as the unique atmosphere.

• 75 km: Roedding

  Feed station 2

  In Roedding, it's time for the second stop of the day.

  This feed station is also your last chance to fuel up for the rest of the ride to Viborg.

• 100 km: Finish in Viborg

  The finish is reached

  Congratulations, you've made it!

  The adventure ends for all road riders and mountain bike riders on the Parade Square in Viborg.

  Your time is taken a few kilometers before, so you can enjoy the last bit rolling through the city.

  There are partying everywhere in Viborg, which celebrates Snapsting.

  It gives you every opportunity to pay tribute to your magnificent achievement.

  The last few kilometers are all about soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying your accomplishment.

  You have completed The Viking Gran Fondo, and now it's time to be celebrated.

  You are going to ride the red carpet through the center of one of Denmark's oldest and most charming cities, Viborg.

  Slow down and give yourself a pat on the back.

• Celebration on the Parade Square

  Now it's time to unclip and celebrate your achievement.

  This is where participants from all routes finish and meet. You can enjoy a well deserved meal and a cold drink while taking it all in.

  All of Viborg is in party-mode this weekend as the city hosts its annual celebration Snapsting.

  That gives you every opportunity to hang around, enjoy the music and atmosphere and celebrate what has hopefully been a great day in the saddle.
